Don't big car meets give off a bad vibe? In particular anything that is focused on stance, imports, or muscle cars. Now I am not saying people in the groups are terrible, it is just that their meets just don't seem like a good place to be. I generally don't go to car meets. I am pretty quiet, so going to a car meet(where the whole idea is to talk) just doesn't bode well for me.
I don't know, but after watching the video above, something just rubbed me the wrong way. Made me think about car meets in general.
Motorsports on the other hand, always fun!

For me, meets have been just awesome. I've met some really interesting people, made some great friends and everyone's been really nice. The only bad experience I've had at a meet was when it was shut down by the cops.

There's a reasonably big one near a shopping mall near me every week, but it's mostly older guys with hot rods and survivors.

Well the most fun I had when I went to Cars and Coffee and it was about 20 degrees outside. There was maybe 5 or 6 people there, but we had a blast talking about cars.
Generally though, the bigger the show the less fun I have. . . I guess people just make me uncomfortable lolololol.

There is a small in my town, I see it every Friday I am coming back from work. Like 10 or 20 muscle cars just hanging out. Always want to check it out but never do.

also, these guys are grade-a douches. I've never seen people behave as bad as these guys. At least in LA, the #1 rule is "don't burn the location". That means NO BURNOUTS. If you do, you won't be invited to any other meets...ever. These guys really suck.

Yeah, maybe it was the video I watched that lead me on this train of thought. The guys are pretty much a terrible group. I have been to shows were revving is not permitted either. Keep the parking lot clean if you want to come back!

Car Throttle posted this earlier this month, there are douchenozzles that ruin shows, and that annoys me.

I think thats what you get when you mix a bag of hipster art kids and their sweet parked rides. I'm sure it would seem fun if we were part of that social group.

Also I'm very surprised at how many of these cars I've seen.

as long as the meet is really diverse, I think theyre amazing. You get to see amazing cars across the board, but on top of that, most of the owners are incredibly open about their cars, and thats exactly what the event should be.
The only meets I avoid are the massive import only ones. The people there are never a good crowd. The hive mind turns bad quick. Mustang meets have bad apples in them, and corvette owners usually dont know anything about their cars. No meet is perfect, but you'll find the crowd you get along with, and they become good friends, even if you only see them at meets.

Well there are meets and there are weekend long events. This looks like SoWo which is a pretty massive event and a ton of people travel and stay there and since most people don't have to drive home, they get to crack a few brews.
And you can only see so many slammed VWs and WRX's with an exhausts before you need to start getting drunk and doing burnouts. Not necessarily in that order.
Cheers.

I enjoy Atlanta's version of Cars and Coffee. It's the most diverse group of cars and people you'll ever see in 1 place. Everything from rat rods, to stance, exotics, classics, muscle cars, imports, bro trucks, you name it everyone and everything is welcome. Sometimes I don't even talk to anyone. Just looking at everything is a good time.

I think it mainly has to deal with the types of cars and the event. I just got back from a three day event that had I would guess near 3000 cars in attendance. the show is for pre 1972 classics. its a blast great people and a very friendly environment. Now I have been to some different cars and coffee events that hold more exotic and foreign cars. ( I should state I have grown up in hot rods and muscle cars) and find it a completely different atmosphere. people are still nice but to me something just doesn't feel right when im there.

I do consider myself a muscle car guy. I have been a part of 2 clubs. One was a B and D body club. It was like being in car family. Everyone helped everyone. We shared parts, we, helped with mods and basic maintenance. It was great and I truely miss it. The second club was a modern MOPAR. This club was full of drama and mod snobbery. I was never a full member of the second club. It is worth noting that B and D body club had no show worthy cars. We where all in our early 20s with little money to spend on big builds. The MOPAR club had lots of show cars. Not all of us "muscle car guy" are bad beer drinking white guys with mullets that hate all things Japanese and European.

Yeah, I find the more accessible the cars are, the more down to ear the person who owns the car usually is. It is much easier for me to talk to someone about their E30 than their F430.
I have only owned one car, and the group is hit and miss. The ones at autocrosses and stuff are very nice and great to talk to, but about 1/4 of them that show up to meets are snobs and asses.
And I know not all muscle car guys aren't terrible, I am just saying that some muscle car meets aren't always as welcoming as they could be.
